Noice. Im surprised that the 2008 Special is only 450MB large cause the lossless DVD rip I did from the BoG Bonus DVD was over 1GB.
Thanks for this. Gonna try to download it cause I know how Nyaa is with reseed n shiet.
PS No I cant reseed my own torrents cause Im away and I said it, in case someone asks me here.
Good day yall.
@Super_Saiyan_Lusitano:
I don't have the BoG bonus DVD, the original Japanese DVD was used. But I'd be willing to do it over if it looks better. Also, my rips aren't lossless. I use a CRF factor of 16. Works perfectly for me, most of the time, anyway.
So it's a small "B". I wouldn't know. I prefer cooler consoles lolz.
Xbox 360 is a pretty cool console.. when it works. A family member of mine had hers gone RRoD and it was an S model like mine.
Great when it works, shit when it doesn't. lol
My PS3 doesn't even get any use as I use the 360 for all gaming n DVDs.
Was just pushing the button lolz.
I am a PS3/4 guy myself, but I don't really have the time to game anyway. Not if I wanna finish this during my lifetime lolz.
Can I ask when you are going to upload the complete original dragon ball z series using dragon box footage? I am dying little by little from the wait..
DBZ will take some time, but I think after we finish the Goku saga, speed should go up by a lot, as there's no BLT dub anymore. Doctor Who no longer needs to fear his soundtrack gets plagiarised soon lolz.
DBZ will also require lots of work tho, with all the different dubs, but I'm pretty sure we'll finish DB before the end of this year. Nobody is more excited about our DBZ and DBGT rips then me. I didn't found this group for nothing, you know.
The new encodes are far superior to the old ones. Trust me. Funimation audio quality is waaay better, and even 5.1 this time, in addition to better video (with smaller filesize too!) and .ass subs are now also included.
Holda Holda.... 1,2 GB? That's great! Now I can assure myself that the quality will be wondeful even though I will run out of space lol but it's worth it :D One more Question, are you also going to include the broadcast audio version? I've heard the dragon box has its issues with the audio but if the broadcast version is there then everything is saved!!
I hate broadcast audio. But we will still include it. Heck, we're even using a better one than the one that's out here!
And Dragon Boxes are used for all 3 series. That has been mentioned many times before.
It's the entire point of our rips, basicly... ;-)
Our rips of the 2 DBZ TV Specials have broadcast Audio, didn't you notice?
Dunno if it's from the same source as the one we use for the series tho. I do remember our syncer for Broadcast Audio having to download them seperately from the series' Broadcast Audio, and that it took some extensive searching, so I think not. But those too are better than what's out here IMO. I still prefer DVD audio myself. It's actually stereo and not so flat sounding. But at least this Broadcast Audio has a little bass. It can be found on DC++, we don't remember anymore how we found it exactly.
Oh, and If you only watch Japanese, you could always re-mux them without the English Dubs. Then they will be in the 800MB-1GB range. ;-)
I seriously thank you not only for picking up the ball where FUNimation left it, but going the extra mile they never would with these releases!
I currently have the movies downloading now, and have confidence these are to be everything I hoped back in 2010 and more!
Hehe, I said to a teammate the other day, TOEI or Funi should hire me lolz.
Work on the re-encodes of DB is going a little slow, but that's because of me getting the Jap BluRays for movies 14 and 15... Only still waiting for movie 14 Theatrical Cut. Director's cut and both 2D and 3D movie 15 are already done and are currently being tested. I can tell you that especially Movie 15 looks really, really nice. It's 14GB tho, 3D version 18GB even... :P Movie 14 DC is a little more normal, with it's 5-6GB.
I eagerly await your releases since they are of top notch quality. I do have some questions though.
Will you also be including Movie 15 Special Trunks Edition that was broadcast on Japanese TV? There are pretty good raws online.
Is your group interested in doing Kai after finishing GT? I think it's an interesting project since the broadcast audio and the DVD/BluRay audio feature different soundtracks.
Still unsure about the movie 15 Trunks Cut.
A teammember of us has a project where he syncs the English Dub and the TV Japanese Dub to the Japanese BR's. Still only on the 2nd episode or so, I think.
Are you unsure because it's broadcast only and your project is with maximum quality available?
The Kai project should take a while since the broadcast version had a pre-opening bit, so all audio has to be cut and re-synced. But it's good to know it's being done. I'd do the sync myself since you can just throw them in MVKToolNix, but I don't know how to cut audio.
I'm unsure because I hate that cut, indeed the quality issues, and I have enough on my hands already with the 3D version. But knowing me, I probably won't be able to resist lolz.
It's not too difficult to sync audio, but Kai has like the lowest priority of all things. Heck, I'd rank it below fully subbing Arale.
Ok, I completely understand you. It's a time consuming effort and you've got enough on your plate.
I've just been researching recently and honestly would like to have a digital collection of the best animation available.
Have you also considered crossovers? I bet that's very low on your list too.
Other than that, I've asked around if the Laserdisc versions of the movies had better footage, it seems the video is lower quality and the audio is pretty much the same. Although the Drama CD's have a better audio. There is a Drama CD for Movie 11, I don't know what else there is.
The crossovers, forgot about them, to be totally honest. Well, maybe one day if I'm bored or need a distraction. Focussing on the series and movies 14 and 15 for now. On the other hand, there's only a few of them... We'll see.
Lemme start off by telling you that for the movies, master audio WAS used, as TOEI still had that. So anyone complaining about Dragon Box the movies is batshit crazy, man. Laser Disc does have better audio than that Drama CD, I've heard, but why should I go to the trouble of syncing that, when the DVD audio is perfect? And to all the people saying that LaserDisc has better audio because it's on vynil, I say: Sure, analog audio sounds better then digital audio, but that's the point. First of all, you would lose that quality upon digitising, and one thing not many people seem to be aware of is the fact that the data on LaserDiscs is actually stored digitally. So, in the end, it might be somewhat better than the CD or maybe even DVD audio, but not by very much. It might also be worse.
Also, I think the DVD audio is also better than that CD. Not being defensive, just giving my opinion.
Crossovers is just a bunch of episodes really. Although Saizen has already released the Dr. Slump episodes.
No one has released the separate Toriko and One Piece episodes. Although I did extract, synced and subbed the two next episode previews for them.
I agree with you on the Laser Discs, again, you don't seem to gain much from it. But disagree on the Drama CD's. Movie 6 and Movie 11 were released on true Stereo, whilst the Dragon Box releases are faux Stereo by having two Mono tracks playing. So on those you would be gaining a lot of quality, and from what I've compared, it shows.
Naw man, Dbox is actual stereo. At least the sfx are. Dunno if the voices were also stereo on that CD, but as master audio was used for the movies, I think they're the same stereo mix.
Which would make DVD audio slightly better, if I'm not mistaking... (48khz vs 44.1) ;-)
Well, I've been investigating, and besides the fact that they claim it to be stereo, it's actually mono encoded in stereo, so two mono tracks playing at the same time to pretend it's stereo. Movie 13 and the 10th Anniversary movie are presented in surround sound. The Drama tracks have true stereo sound.
You can read that discussion here:
http://www.kanzenshuu.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=22485
All in all, you're entitled to do whatever you want! These releases are really good as they are. I'll be trying to sync up Movie 11's CD track anyway since personally, I think it does sound better.
Other than that, what's the next release going to be? Movie 14 and 15 or Dragon Ball Box 1? :D
You're getting close to finishing up Dragon Ball, would it make more sense to finish those episodes up before the final two Z movies?
Legit question, not trying to be snarky.
Astray02Kai, he's making a new set with more audio tracks, starting from the beginning.
sangofe: yay mightiest collaboration! Go team go! (It's DNA by the way.)
@Astray02Kai: Well, I'm not one for making sense, lolz. But like I said before, it's all about what finishes first. JohnnyOak is absolutely right. Although, as we dropped the Blue Water, so after episode 13 there will be no new audio tracks. Only new additions then would be new, better and smaller video, English 5.1 audio and ASS subtitles. Still a big improvement.
@sangofe: It's an honour to be recruited by you guys. But I thought you were done with GT, so what in the world are you guys working on right now? What do you need help with? Just add add @gmail.com to my username here, and hit me up, we'll work something out. Including myself, there are so far at least 2 of our teammembers willing to help out.
@sangofe: lolz, I need to learn how to read. Ah, yeah, now I see, you guys were planning on updating some shit with the batch releases, right? Well, talk to you on e-mail. Very curious as to what will be updated.
Hey pukulan10jurus, i love your work man, i just wanted to ask you that will upload dragon ball audio 5.1 and ass subs separately cause i have already downloaded your previous release and my download speed is very shit so i wont be downloading them again and i am fine with the video quality, ill just mix them using mkvtoolNix my self if you share them separately
by the way thank you for everything, you are doing great work
That will take a while. Might be 2 years or something. With the Ocean Dub, Z will probably take a while.
I think it's possible to complete DB this year tho. Releasing speed should go up by a lot after the first saga, as the BLT dub is much harder to sync then Blue Brick's Funimation Dub.
Baaro has done DB movie 1, 3, 4, and DBZ 7 using actual HD footage in full frame from a foreign broadcast. The DB movies are still listed on Baaro's site; not sure where to get the DBZ movie 7. They are not on nyaa. This may be something to look into to add.
@mine1400: I think you missed the fact that we are starting over. Sometime in the coming week(yeah, it's happening), DBZ movies 14 and 15 will be released (all varieties, both Theatrical and Extended cuts, and 3D version for movie 15) After that we will start over from DB Episode 001, this time with improved video quality while reducing size, 5.1 Surround for the Funimation Dub, the BLT dub included, and Broadcast Audio where available. So you're gonna have to wait for Tenshinhan. Don't think I like starting over either, as the Piccolo saga is my favourite, but I will always regret it if I don't. Also, this time, everything was ripped straight from DVD by yours truly, nothing was encoded more than once, or borrowed from another group, except the subs, which were borrowed from utsukushii. And even that will change, starting from DBZ. So sorry for making you guys wait, but trust me, the new rips will be sooo much better. We are currently at episode 9 out of 13 for the first batch of the new DB rips. Won't be long anymore. BLT Dub makes it take so long, so starting from the 2nd saga speed should go up a lot. Blue Bricks sync really easy to Jap Dragon Box! :)
@arromdee: I kinda fail to see your point. Besides, all movies are available in HD on Amazon Japan, man. Toei actually did a 1080p remaster which looks GREAT! Although it has more film grain than the Dragon Boxes, but it is very sharp. If they ever get a BluRay, I might even encode them some day. But all Dragon Boxes and Dragon Ball Super first.
@ pukulan10jurus: Thanks for the information! I'm looking forward to DBZ Movie 14 and 15. What quality does Movie 15 Extended Cut have? Will you encode OVA 2 and 3 from the French BD?
The Trunks Cut looks as ridiculous as it is. There's only 1 source for that as far as I'm aware, and it's a TV-rip. The BR-rip of the theatrical version, on the other hand, is my best looking encode ever. Although it should be, being 15GB and all... :D
I might encode that BR, but it has no priority right now. After those movies are out (movie 14's Japanese extra's are the only thing left to do), I will start focussing purely on the series. After those are done, I will make one insanely large torrent with everything, fixing/updating stuff.
First of all, a HUGE thank you for this majestic work!!
Untouched DBox videos with both jap and Eng/Faulconer tracks done right? I had lost all hope. And you even go the extra mile by trying to add as much audio tracks or extras you can. Words can't express how great this is... You are a GOD!!
Since you're a perfectionist when it comes to quality, I think this might interest you:
https://nyaa.iss.one/view/1059334
I think they also wanted to do the Future Trunks Special version of Resurrection F but apparently Toei didn't granted permission. The specials are top notch quality though.
What is Faulconer, actually? I mean, I know he scored some DBZ and that his first name is Bruce, but what dub is that? I see people naming dubs by score componist or narrator, but I never know what they mean. I call dubs like "original dub", "orange bricks" and "Funi Dbox re-dub", "BR re-dub", and so on...
And yes, I am an actual god lolz. :P
Ah, so that French thing is out now, ey? I might use it one day, but I promised the rest of the team I would finish the series before doing anything else, after movies 14 and 15...
Thanks for your praise and the link.
That's what aired here in the US when the show started to run on Cartoon Network and the dub was being handled in-house by FUNimation starting with episode 54 (cut version). I'm sure this is what was used up through the orange bricks, possibly on the BD release, as well, but I can't confirm that as I don't own them.
So, it's the original dub. Of course we will include that. Funimation produced about 4 different Dubs:
- The Ocean dub, of course (they only did episodes 1-54 and 108-276, by their count)
- The Original Funimation dub (they only did from episode 55 (their count) onward)
- The Orange Brick and Dragon Box re-dub (Orange bricks have a track with English score and one with the Japanese score, Dragon Box only has a track with the Japanese score)
- The BluRay re-dub (95% identical to Orange Bricks, although there are slight differences, mainly different English scores in some places, not sure if some lines were re-re-dubbed)
Not sure if I will include both the Brick and BluRay tracks yet. This takes long enough as it is. BR seems to have better audio quality, so if I only use 1 of those it will probably be that one. It also syncs easier, if I recall correctly.
On a side note, I vaguely recall something about Funimation's Original Dub switching to a different narrator and score composer at a different point on TV compared to DVD. Not sure tho.
@pukulan10jurus Your information is correct, good sir! But seriously, there have been so many dubs and re-dubs for this series.. it's crazy.
Also, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think when people talk about the English dub, they are most probably refering to the Orange Bricks/BluRay, since the dub (or should I say re-dub) quality was vastly superior to the original. However, many grew up watching the original dub, so... I don't know lol.
Btw, you're including the Ocean dub in your release?! Holy cow, I wish you all the strength in the world to sync that!
Yeah, the re-dub is better. They get to say "die" and stuff lolz. But I'll include the older dubs for nostalgia purposes.
Ocean Dub will be a PITA, but as I consider it the best English dub, and because of forementioned nostalgia, I'm going to do it. Of course, there will be lots of gaps that will have to be filled with uncut dub audio tho.
From Episode 108 onward, Ocean is much easier to sync tho. It's just the part up to the moment Goku kicks the bejesus out of Recoom that is insanely hard because of all the edits.
Bah gawd, you really are creating the best Dragon Ball release ever!
Also, you might have to redo your DBZ specials cuz I have this:
https://nyaa.iss.one/view/1039165
The Dragon Box have better audio quality, but the Special Selection DVDs gets rid of the black bars to give us more image. The image quality is also slightly better compared to the DBox. How can you not want that?! :D
Also, I also have this rare DBZ special that you might want to add:
https://nyaa.iss.one/view/950457
For those who don't know what this is (which I highly doubt lol):
http://dragonball.wikia.com/wiki/Dragon_Ball_Z:_Summer_Vacation_Special
It is the full special and subbed (Don't worry, it's softcoded). And for a special that has never been commercialized, the quality is really good.
@SoulBurner: I didn't use the Special Selection DVD's because of the audio and because the image quality difference is only visible when comparing them side by side. Thanks for the .iso tho, didn't had that one yet.
I already had that summer vacation thing, but there would be little for me to add to that. Just download shiteater's rip. It has my favourite commercial ever. "Now your ass isn't fat anymore" :D
Np for the .iso file. Don't hesistate to connect with the guy if you ever need something. He's got some pretty rare stuff.
Also, when you re-release everything, can you please re-do the specials with the videos from the Special Selection DVD's? I know the difference is barely noticable, but if we can get an upgrade, even if it's only 0.00001% better, then don't hesitate to go for it!!
Also, the guy who posted the Summer Vacation Special has a few more sweet 90's DBZ commercials, if you're interested. You could use it as extras, if you want.
Btw, do you or anyone else have the other 'rare' stuffs, like The DBZ Year-End Show or the Goku's World (Terebikko) specials? I have found some rips, but the quality could be better.
Also, can you confirm that you're re-doing the Dragon Ball episodes? (I'm running low on space, so I could delete the DB posts without worrying. :D)
Lastly, for the Resurrection F movie, how about you work with the BluRay, and for the Future Trunks cut, you can make a separate video with the parts? That way you won't have a drop in quality, and everyone who want the Future Trunks cut are happy.
I'll probably do both. Already downloaded that Special Selection DVD and the French BR is already encoded even.
But I am currently in need of some shit, in fact. Could you e-mail me? Just add @gmail.com to my username here.
I have the Terevikko somewhere, but it's probably the same one you have. I have DB Movie 1 in Big Green partially and I have DB Movie 3 in Speedy. That's about as rare as I get.
Yeas, I am starting over again with Dragon Ball, improving some stuff. Better video in smaller size, Funimation Dub is now 5.1, BLT Dub is now included, and for the first 4 Episodes Blue Water Dub too. Japanese Broadcast Audio will be included where available too. There's also now ASS subs, and this time everything except the subs and the Broadcast Audio were re-ripped by yours truly.
Movies 14 and 15 will have seperate versions. So 2 rips for movie 14, and 3 for movie 15. The Trunks Cut will have the same quality as the rip already on here (gues what my last time borrowing video was lol). Movie 15's 3D version and it's 2D version will have quality unseen before (unless you own the actual BR). Everything will be seperate files containing all of the movies.
Sources used were: Japanese BluRays for the video and Japanese audio (costed us about 100 euros too. Dedication, bitches!), UK BR's for the English Dubs and Subs and most extras, Movie 14 USA BR for the voice actors extras, which were lacking from the UK BR for some reason.
So this should satisfy everyone. Movie 15's BR-Rips are insanely huge tho. 2D is 15GB, and 3D is 18GB. Quality is amazing tho. I consider them my best rips yet.
Oh, and the only thing keeping them from release are subs of the trailers from the Japanese extras of movie 14... Very, very soon now! ;-)
Holy shit, that is some serious dedication!
Just sent you an email..
Hope I can help somehow. Oh, and anyone reading this post who has anything that we haven't posted here, it would be cool if you guys could share. Let us make this the most complete DB release ever lol!
