This was made by CoMix Wave Films which is a Japanese company best known for doing Kimi no Na wa aka Your Name. I think it may be worth a look. I also wouldn't just dis a show for being from China, Kings Avatar and the Fox Spirit Matchmaker are both Chinese, and both are definitely worth watching. The setting for the three arcs of Shikioriori are in China, yes, but a fair part of Ranma 1/2 took place in China as well, that is where the cursed springs are located, and a number of the characters (Shampoo, Mousse, Cologne) are from China, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't watch Ranma 1/2.

@TarryPlaguer that's a weak comparison. Ranma 1/2 has perhaps three episodes (mostly) set in China and none of the characters speak Chinese, except for Shanpuu dropping a few words now and then. The staff involved from Comix Wave Films are also different from those who worked on Kimi no na wa. Either way, the seiyuu are Japanese, so the "only" Chinese thing about this are the near entirety of the staff and the setting. It looks interesting, so I might give it a watch though.
