Orphan Fansubs continues its shoujo spree with the first English version of the 1992 TV special *Boyfriend*, which is an abridgement of a longer, two-part OVA of the same name. Based on a VHS tape rip by ARR; the rip is terrible, marred by video and audio distortion. **If you have a better raw, or access to the VHS tape or laserdisc releases of either the TV special or the two-part OVA, please let us know.** For more information, see the blog entry.

that it was released on 92-5-27 (May 27, 1992)

but the TV Special was aired on TV Tokyo Feb 11, 1992.
So shouldn't it be that the anime was released as a TV Special first and then had a home-media release with additional footage (like with most modern anime DVD/BD releases nowadays)?
