When Seki Oriko's parents died in a tragic car accident she went off to live with her grandmother. Said grandmother runs a traditional Japanese inn, and wants to train Okko to take over as innkeeper. The training will be hard, but it will allow Okko to keep her mind off her deceased parents. Even more so since the inn is haunted and Okko can see ghosts. Lucky for her that the ghosts are friendly and willing to help out. Join Okko as she tries to become a respected innkeeper in a charming Japanese inn.
OK, so this is the movie version of Wakaokami Wa Shougakusei!. It is not a recap nor a compilation of the shorts. This is all new story and animation. It's quite charming. Sure, it's mainly for children, but if you feel tired and need to unwind with some wholesome kids anime, this is for you.
The video source is from the Japanese BDMV. Contains 2.0 and 5.1 Japanese audio. The subtitles are from the official English release, pgs. Enjoy the movie.
Any plans on uploading the TV series? The CabbageSubs version was unwatchable due to an annoying timer watermark thing, so I've been waiting for BD release.
Sadly, there IS no BDMV available for the TV show. No BDMV, no BD version. The official site only mentions a DVD release, but it was released on BD in France.
@davrick so does that mean you dropped it? Because of the DVR timer? Even though there was no other version available (at the time, at least)? It wasn't that intrusive, by the third or fourth episode it honestly didn't even .
Wow, someone goes to the trouble of sharing a show they like because no one else was carrying it and you gotta crap all over their effort? And the DVR rigs in Japan may very well timestamp recorded material expressly to curtail pirating. Still... don't you think you are being a touch too anal-retentive?
>criticizing someone for putting off watching a show until a way better version shows up
I understand that the watch-now attitude is prevalent in the anime community, but there's no need to criticize patient people.

Nope.

There is indeed a French BD box with the movie and the series, 37 EUR. French subs though, so polish up your language skills. From what I've read of French manga, they have a much better translation than most American versions, and they're uncensored. Better print quality too. I haven't bought any BD from there but the DVD boxes I used to buy were as good or better than the ADVision ones that flooded the USA market. Lucky frogs, dammit.
@DmonHiro There is a Japanese BD version (see volta_john's link)
@stealthmomo Good for you if you were able to endure staring at a timer/clock for the entire show, but I'd rather wait for a watchable version so that I can enjoy the show to the fullest. I'm not running out of other anime to watch in the meantime.
The show is on a German streaming website with quality equal to Blu-ray: https://www.anime-on-demand.de/anime/284
Someone could put English subs above it.
