I recently started fixing EPUBs for use in GPB. Only valid EPUBs can be uploaded there.
These are fixed EPUBs from sources : [meep](https://nyaa.iss.one/view/932174), [LuCaZ](https://nyaa.iss.one/view/1020144), [anonymous](https://nyaa.iss.one/view/1109155)
All files pass epubcheck (using EPUB version 3.2)
Official Yen Press Translations.
For a valid epub for vol. 21, refer ~~`https://nyaa.iss.one/view/1213049`~~ by Ganba
[Updated Link, Vol 21] https://nyaa.iss.one/view/1232867
and yet another lame ass make believe "fixed" batch (when nothing needs to be "fixed") ... Ganba has ALL of these "OFFICIAL YEN PRESS" translations in both pdf AND epub, and more ... he has up to v21 in this batch https://nyaa.iss.one/view/1213049
Ganba also has up to vol 4 of the "official Yen Press" translations of "Spice and Wolf New Theory - Parchment and Wolf" in the same batch
Can confirm that the .epub files in the Officially Translated Light Novels batches are compatible with Google Play Books, though they throw three errors under an epub check.
I've started seeding.
@brennu These pass epubcheck. So they are compatible with all epub readers
Ganba's Spice and Wolf v21 seems to be valid as it passes epubcheck
I respect Ganba for his contributions, but this is the result of an epubcheck on v01 of Spice and Wolf New Theory - Parchment and Wolf

@kiriya_aoi Yes meep’s batches were much easier to fix. Only 3 errors each
I do have to wonder though, why does anyone bother with epub's when there are pdf versions available ... epub should be a last resort, because all I ever see is people either whining about it wont work on the reader they use, or people who claim to have "fixed" the epub versions so that they do work on all epub readers
... with pdf you don't have all the problems and drama
\>be pdf
\>be formatted for A4 or Letter paper
\>my device isn't shaped like either of those
at least it might have decent hyphenation, I guess, which is more than I can say for any epub reader I've used, but if we're going the pdf route I want them as .tex files instead so I can typeset them myself
@ kiriya_aoi ... ok, I can understand that ... none of my laptops were ever A4 or letter size, neither is my tablet ... I have never had any problem reading any pdf file on any of them
... every pdf file I have ever used on one of my laptops could be scaled to any size I want with a simple mouse click or two ... and pdf files auto-scale (and auto page format) on my tablet so it never matters which way I have the tablet turned
... I have been using Foxit Reader on my laptops for more than 10 years, and I use the factory installed pdf reader on my tablet
...when I do have to read an epub because there is no pdf file avail for the book I want ... I use Moon+ Reader on my tablet ... and have never experienced any of the problems I see so many people complaining about when they try to read epubs
@brennu
EPUBs have reflowable text, that allows them to be reformatted to any screen size with different font sizes. The problem with this format is that the publishers (mainly Yen Press) sometimes don't check if their files are valid (sometimes they use weird formatting, inconsistent titles, etc), so they have problems with multiple devices. redEvangelion is fixing them up to standard.
Here's a link to Ganba's Officially translated Light Novels (the previous link in this thread no longer works)
