One day she was killed by books. While that is ironic, what was even more ironic was that her soul was transported into another world and put in the body of a little girl. Said word has no books. It's basically hell for Main (yes, that IS how you write her name, it's マイン). To top it all off, her body is very frail and can't endure much physical activity. But that will not stop her from getting books. So join Main as she creates shampoo, works to invent printing presses and revolutionizes this medieval world. Oh, and there's magic, politics and classism. Now if only Main could stop making bedroom eyes to every young man she meets... I must admit that I passed on this show when it first started. I didn't think I could be interested in a show about creating books. And this is why the three-episodes-rule exists. I fell in love with this show. I love the world, I love the characters and I love the story. I absolutely adore Mine, one of the best female protagonists I've seen in a long time. She's a treasure-trove of facial expressions and I love how she bungles her way into pretty much upgrading the whole damn kingdom. Also, she's way more powerful then you might think. Of course, no main character (get it, Main-main?) is able to carry a whole show and make it work, but Main has some top-tier back-up, from the head priest, to the merchant to "her" childhood friend. Ferdinand, Benno and Lutz are all great as well. What are you waiting for? Go watch this anime. It sparks joy. There's comedy, there's drama, there's even a bit of action. Also Iguchi Yuka has an amazing vocal range, going from sweet as sugar to cold as ice in a second. Basically, don't get between Main and books. Also, season 3 has been announced. Subtitles are from Erai. I put in extra effort to make sure all signs are properly timed. This show deserves it. Includes both seasons and the OVA, in airing order. **Series rating: 10/10** **Opening & Preview (Middle-click the image to open video in new tab. Thanks! Waiting for S3!
Really hard to enjoy a show with MC being kid(s)... Probably because there's no potential for romantic development (I feel I need to clarify that it's because they're kids and kids don't do stuff like that). Kind of a shame. MC being female doesn't help either... Being mature helps with enduring a show but being a kid feels too limiting for me to give it a try. SHAME... for me.

Ahh, but you forget, Main is a college girl in the body of a child. In fact, I feel that the biggest roadblock to future romance is that a certain head priest wouldn't recognize it if it hit him in the face.
Myne loves books and books love Myne, they're the prefect couple and this is the perfect romance!
\>Probably because there’s no potential for romantic development shipfag alert this is why we're getting too many waifu shows nowadays all you people want are romance and ships and dgaf about story aS lOnG aS i CaN sHiP cHaRacTeRs iT's GrEaT 11/10 you didn't even watch it, let alone read the synopsis to learn that Main being an adult reincarnated into a child's body is common knowledge that's like classic casul ignorance
Don't forget you can't have romance because: > MC being female doesn’t help either
So it's an Isekai? Reading Dmon's comment seems it might? May give this more of a shot if it is since I too been putting this aside. It's got fantasy listed as one of the genre's which I'm into but something else to watch it.
> So it’s an Isekai Correct. Although it's slightly different from most of them where the MC is reincarnated into a T1000 and saves the world, Main uses her knowledge of books to better the world she is reincarnated into.
Why did you choose the worst subs available? At the very least use GJM until they are not available and then switch to horrible (or wait for them to end subbing the s2).
Dmon has made it known multiple times by now that he doesn't give a fuck about having good subs and admits himself to be an incompetent encoder You can't teach an old dog new tricks
One of my favourite shows in a while. Got really tired of all those overpowered yet immature main characters in contemporary isekai. > So it’s an Isekai? It definitely is. To be more accurate, isekai tensei, that is, "reincarnation into another world". > Probably because there’s no potential for romantic development There IS potential, but only in the future. For the time being it looks more like a reverse harem of "daddies" (and one male "buddy"). > Ahh, but you forget, Main is a college girl in the body of a child. The main obstacle is not even being in the body of a child but the experience of her previous life. She did not have and did not wish for any romance earlier being a complete book freak. Sometimes I have the impression she was reincarnated into the right world, time and place in order to improve herself as a human being. On Earth she was just passively "collecting" knowledge from books and was not emotionally involved with anybody. Now that's gonna change. She starts to treasure relationships with other people. That's one of the things I like in this show.
> Said word has no books. Not completely true. There are books in that world, but they are rare and very expensive. > Main (yes, that IS how you write her name, it’s マイン). BTW, many names here are obviously borrowed from German. So then you can also spell her name as Mein. (As in 'Mein Kampf'.) :) But then again in ranobe translation the name is spelled as Myne. So that might be how the author meant it to be spelled. > she bungles her way into pretty much upgrading the whole damn kingdom. Sorry for being a bore, but so far it's a duchy. Apparently it's a world of feudal fragmentation. > Also, season 3 has been announced. Hell yeah! I read ranobe volumes 6 & 7 and I must say season 3 should be more interesting and dramatic than the previous too! Stay tuned and don't miss it, ppl! :) So once again, it IS an isekai and the main character WILL become very powerful. But the story has a nice pace showing how the heroine gradually evolves and becomes more and more powerful (in various senses).
DmonHiro, I applaud thy effort

cookiemonsterjr, I'll pass on that. XRA9, magic was introduced in episode 2-3. What did you think her sickness was?
Magic was introduced at the very beginning of the first episode. (Which is a little bit disappointing, since in ranobe it was a surprise when magic was first introduced later.) Like I said, this title turns out to be more typical isekai than it seems at the beginning. So to some extent I can see XRA9's point. (And to be honest, I am not happy with how they made the scene where main character's blood drops on the ground...) But if there were no magic this thing would have been all about new technologies introduced into some alternative medieval world, right? Would that make it really better? I guess having a reasonable amount of fantasy elements doesn't spoil the title.
I love this show, I know it isn't "check my perfect 20 roll" like most Isekai but I really like it's quite style. The characters I think are what sold it to me in the end. Thanks DmonHiro.
not unless he meant exactly the magic introduced right at the start of the series, then i feel sorry for him
