Before the season 3 vs season 4 teams come in and battle it out here in the comments
The seasons thing just depends on if you count the movie / movie episodes (Episode overall 27 - 33) as a ‘season’
If you don’t then there are only 3 seasons and season 2 has 2 parts (mugen train arc, entertainment district arc): Season 1, Season 2 (mugen train arc part 1, entertainment district arc part 2), Season 3 (swordsmith village arc)
If you do then there are 4 seasons: Season 1, Season 2 (mugen train arc), season 3 (entertainment district arc), season 4 (swordsmith village arc)
Wikipedia, IMDB, crunchyroll and myanimelist have it listed as 3 seasons, with season 2 having 2 parts
@chibby @Bardeault
I get that it's intended to be three seasons...but it doesn't really matter what the "true" seasons are...it only matters what things like Plex/Emby/Jellyfin are all programmed to scrape the metadata for - and in this case they've settled on 4 seasons.
Looks kinda dumb when you see them listed out as a bunch of files, but as far as those programs go, it makes sense.
@ChippewaBarr Plex/Emby/Jellyfin all "settled" on 4 seasons because TVDB decided it was so, and they scrape their metadata from here. TVDB isn't the end all be all though. They often get information wrong, and on purpose. They change data to fit their system rather than adjust their system to accurately display the data.
Jellyfin does have the option to pull metadata from other places though.
