Orphan is proud to present a new English version of Rumiko Takahashi's 1988 OVA *One Pound Gospel*. It tells the story of a young boxer, Hatakana Kosaku, whose promising career has flat-lined because of his uncontrolled appetite for street food. At his lowest ebb, he meets Sister Angela, an aspiring nun. She gives him the encouragement, scoldings, and occasionally, physical chastisement needed to keep him on track for a comeback. For more information, see [this blog entry](https://collectr.blogspot.com/2024/01/one-pound-gospel.html). The OVA was directed by Dezaki Osamu under a pseudonym, and his trademark "postcard memories" are scattered throughout the show:

Laserdisc source; a 3-disc stack, ripped on the Domesday Duplicator. FLAC audio. The subtitles have been checked and reworked, and the typesetting is new. The OP/ED, "Cry No More" by Hamada Mari, is outstanding, as is the whole show. Watch it; you won't regret it.
