Orphan presents a new version of *Satsujin Kippu wa Heart-iro* (*The Murder Ticket Is Heart-Colored*), a 1990 mystery OVA based on a series of young adult novels for women by Yamaura Hiroyasu. It tells the story of high-school student Nagare Seiko's "vacation" (due to a suspension) in Nagasaki with her black-and-white cat, Gonbei. On the train from Tokyo, she encounters a handsome man who has supposedly been murdered.  She also encounters other strangers, some helpful, some mysterious, and gets mixed up in the affairs (and murders) of a prominent local family, the Totsugawas. The mystery isn't very deep, and there's more comedy that thrills, but it's a decent ride.
