Why does Japan split shows up like this? Shows that are obviously meant to be shown in a single 24-episode stretch I mean. There was only a 3 or 4 month break between cours for this one so it obviously wasn't intended to be separate "seasons" per se. Weird. I can only guess at production timeline or labor budget issues that got the second cour pushed back.
I notice this has been happening a lot lately with a lot of different shows, especially popular shows.
I suppose the rumors I've been hearing about the anime production industry hitting its practical output limits are true. There's probably gonna be a bubble pop of some kind within a few years. There's only so many illustrators and animators out there and wages are way too suppressed to attract enough fresh talent into the industry at a sustainable pace.
