Thank you Is there any difference between this version of NGE and the previously released Blu-ray version? I'm particularly curious about episode 16.

@ElderKai this is just the Rebuild movies 1.11 and 2.22 in 4k UHD format. The NGE Blu-rays released with the 30th Anniversary set are the exact same discs as previous Blu-ray sets for NGE. The only difference is the content that comes with the Rebuild movies. 4K UHD versions of the final versions of the films (1.11, 2.22, 3.333 and 3.0+1.11) and then it also comes with the previously unreleased theatrical versions of the Rebuild movies (1.0, 1.01, 2.0, 3.0, and 3.0+1.0). The difference between them all are very slight, some redone animation, or redrawn faces, the biggest change comes to 3.333, which added a lot more background details to align with the final 3.0+1.0. Also, the version they have released of Episode 16 is probably the best we're ever going to get from official sources unless some miraculous deity magically recovers the lost/destroyed negative or interpositive reels. There is some hope to be had with some AI recreations (probably the only time I will ever be for AI) or maybe one day Khara will go back and reanimate it completely? But aside from those 2 things, Episode 16 is a sad tragedy and the Upscale they did of the Interpositive Scan is again the best Khara will put out.

@locian I was hoping they might have made some changes in this shared Blu-ray set. When you shared the LD version of episode 16, I downloaded it and tried using artificial intelligence (Nano banana pro). The results weren't bad, but editing all the scenes one by one takes too much time.

Was the production pipeline/workflow for this actually 4k (or higher) or did they just upscale it to make it "compatible" with the UHD disc standard?

Very very STUPID encoding. The file extension is m2ts, however is it NOT mpeg-2. It's already in HEVC at almost 97mbit/s. The encoder (uploader?) has absolutely NO idea how HEVC works, and should be around 48Mbit/s at MAX. Hell, even 40 is enough!
