Magai proudly presents Snipe–Clam Grapple, a short instrumental Chinese animation from 1983. Also known as The Fight Between the Snipe and the Clam and The Egret and the Oyster, it was based on a proverb from the Zhan Guo Ce (Strategies of the Warring States), an ancient Chinese historical text.
This is the second installment in Magai’s series of short Chinese ink-wash animation films. Like the later short film The Praying Mantis (1988), it was produced by the Shanghai Animation Film Studio and was directed by Hu Jinqing.
Credits: The DVD rip comes from rutracker and was done by an unknown group. HoneyClover did the translation, timing, and typesetting. Morellet edited, adjusted some of the timing and typesetting, and did the motion tracking. HoneyClover did the final quality check.
